La Nouba Locker Magnets

                   "The Maid"
A personal favorite from the show. The "Maid" this started as just a quick sketch to see if I could draw her. Turned out well enough that I decided to add her to my locker collection.
                   "Tissue Girl"
My first attempt at making a locker magnet. I originally wanted to do a pinup style image of the tissue girls but later thought this composition would be more interesting and almost as extreme as the actual act in the show.
                  "The Titan"
Many guests love the Titan and my manager happened to be a groupie as well. She asked if I could create a magnet of him and here's the end result. She loved it so much she even had it laminated.
Jack as "Techno Show Bird Girl"
The "Techno show" was a great event in which Cirque employees got to act out some of there versions of the wonderful La Nouba show. One of my managers put on a pair of thigh high boots and took on the part of the Bird Girl. It was hilarious to see him on stage and I was honored to draw him pretty much as he appeared on stage in full costume.

In my free time on breaks, or days off I like to sketch characters and concept designs. Here's a few quick pencil sketches of possible pin or even tee shirt designs.

Here's a sketch for a coloring book idea I had.

La Nouba coloring book???

Welcome to Cirque Art by Ray, a web blog of cartoon, character designs, and pinup art inspired by Cirque Du Soleil shows. Much of the art displayed here were requested by actual Cirque retail employees and created by Ray Richardson a retail sales associate of Cirque Du Soleil's La Nouba.
Ray has been employed by Cirque for 3 years and is an aspiring character design and storyboard artist. In his spare time he creates art  using various media including marker on vellum, watercolor, pen and ink and digital. As a "Cartoon pinup artist" one of Ray's first Cirque inspired creations were a "Tissue Girl"  locker magnet. Once completed and displayed, several fellow employees requested their own locker magnets featuring their favorite Cirque performer. A small series of magnets featuring the Titan, Bird Girl, Maid and Diablo Girls currently adorn the employee lockers of La Nouba and the idea to create more art was formulated through several employees to be considered for Tee shirt designs, posters, and various other applications. As a result this web blog is now a showcase for some of the inspirational art Cirque employees can view and enjoy.
